Amy + Gord chose a Fish Creek Park Engagement and I couldn’t have been happier! There are endless places that are great for couple portraits there. You can usually find some sheltered spots even if the weather isn’t great. As a puppy-mom myself, I was also excited that they wanted their dog to be included in a few shots, because I love including pets! How cute was she just sitting on the bridge while I took photos of them in the background!

Both Amy and Gord wanted to include their riders jerseys for part of the shoot because it had quite a significant meaning. For her birthday, Amy unwrapped the last present from Gord, and sure enough it was a riders jersey. She was slightly underwhelmed, lets say, not being a HUGE fan herself. That is, until she turned it over and it had his last name on it. He proposed with a beautiful ring, and after the shock wore off came the tears and the yes’s. Kudos Gord – love it!

We took our time wandering around Fish Creek, and I kept being amazed at the way Gord looked at Amy. You can tell they love each other, and both had a great time getting pictures taken together. At times, they were so natural that I just back away and let them interact. Amy was game for anything, which I appreciated, including sitting in the grass in white pants. I don’t know about anyone else, but I can never keep clothing white!

I was about to post their wedding photos when I realized that I was so behind on blogging, that I hadn’t even posted their engagement session yet! Sorry guys! I really had a blast with you, and feel like I made two friends, not just clients when I met you.

Fall engagement session in Calgary, Alberta with beautiful backlighting and a newly engaged couple kissing as the sun sets

I’ve said this so many times, but Calgary fall engagement sessions are so amazing! The colours and the light are stunning, and I just can’t get enough. Fish Creek Park is a perfect spot for photos, and I was so glad Kristi introduced me to this new entrance. I can’t believe there was a section of the park that I had never been to.

Whenever I ask couples how long they’ve been together, and their answer is high school, it’s always followed up by a big old “whaaaaat?! high school?!” High school sweethearts that are still together is incredibly rare to see these days. So when Kristi and Bryce messaged me about their engagement, I was excited on a whole other level. They’ve been together for a long time, and you can tell. They are so comfortable around each other, and just chatted non stop while I wandered around doing my thing. Couples that are comfortable and keep each other laughing are so easy to work with!

They are having a backyard wedding, and those have a special place in my heart because that’s where my husband and I chose to have our wedding! A backyard wedding is so intimate and the best part is you don’t have to switch venues!

Kristi + Bryce will be saying “I do” in August and I’ll be there to capture it all. I’m so happy for them! Enjoy a few photos from their Calgary fall engagement session from Fish Creek Park. The sun was just setting and the light was just perfect. We had fun wandering down to the river, and then hiked up a hill a bit to stand in a field of beautiful long grass just as the sun started to set. Sayge was included for a few shot, which I loved as well. What a cutie!

Congrats you two! Can’t wait for August!

Calgary wedding, downtown, Pinebrook golf & country club wedding, church, st. maryChris and Nadina’s Pinebrook golf & country club wedding was filled with so much love and grace. It was a beautiful overcast day, and the most prime Saturday for the beautiful fall colours that Calgary has to offer. I’ve known Chris for a long time, and it was really special getting to photograph their wedding.

Chris and Nadina’s friends and family gathered at St. Mary’s Cathedral to celebrate the joining of two amazing families. These two have surrounded themselves with an incredible group of people, and their love for the couple was evident. After, we headed around Calgary for a few shots downtown and overlooking the skyline. We also may have stopped in at a pub on Stephen Avenue for a few shots! Bridal parties like to have fun, so I was all it when they wanted to pop into a pub.

We ended up at the beautiful Pinebrook Golf & Country Club wedding venue for more photos and their reception. It is such a stunning venue, and one of my favourite locations in Calgary! There are so many nice places for some intimate couple portraits, and the course was kind enough to lend Chris and Nadina a golf cart to get around in. Guests were treated to an amazing meal, and my all time favourite – a candy station. After dinner their guests danced the night away to the incredible DJ Reno, and it was such a fun crowd! Everyone was having a blast and the dance party was quite epic!

Chris and Nadina thank you so much for inviting me to document this special time in your life, I am so excited for everything that is ahead of you two!

It’s the romantic ideal that many of us aspire to, but few realize – to end up with our high school sweetheart. This incredible couple have realized this ideal, and I had such a great time capturing their downtown Calgary wedding.

They had a beautiful ceremony at St. Jospeh’s cathedral in downtown Calgary, and then we stopped at some of my favourite spots around town for pictures. Confederation Park was a beautiful spot to bring along their wedding party and families. They included many small children in their family photos, and they were such troopers! They were all so great at smiling and looking at the camera, which is a photographers dream! Luckily the rain held off (mostly), and provided some dramatic skies over the city skyline.

They capped off the night with their reception at the Strathcona Christie Community Association. It was beautifully decorated, and made the venue look so classy. Kaitlyn even decorated the centerpieces herself!

Thank you so much Kaitlyn and Morgan for being so much fun to spend the day with. Wishing you all the best in the future!

If I had to choose a word to describe Kaitlyn and Brett’s wedding day it would be joyful. These two share so much happiness and it was such a gift to witness their wedding day. Kaitlyn was absolutely beaming in her Essence of Australia gown, and I had the delight of photographing her getting ready at her family’s gorgeous house in Priddis. Kaitlyn + Brett decided to do a first look at Lake Bonavista, and the bridal party joined us after for pictures around the area. We had fun hiking up some hills and captured some beautiful portraits of the couple and family before heading to the reception at The Lake House. It is such an amazing venue to begin with, but added touches of florals made it stunning! Brett and Kaitlyn, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of it all! I loved getting to spend time with your friends and family and am so excited for everything that is ahead of you two!
