Adventure wedding + Elopement Photographer

Banff Elopement Photographer captures an elopement couple on top of a mountain

Hi, I’m Laura!

I’m a full-time Banff elopement photographer and have loved this gig since 2014. I was born and raised in the Rockies, and despite having travelled the world for many years, I came back to be near the mountains that inspire me and call it home once again. I met the love of my life (Craig) at a bus stop at university, and we have been navigating life and adventures together ever since. Our honeymoon consisted of backpacking the Juan De Fuca trail and surfing in Tofino for a week. Kodi is our fur baby/rescue dog who takes up far too much space on the couch, and we have two young kiddos. I love watching the world through their eyes and nurturing a love of the outdoors in them.

It all started…

In 2005, I travelled abroad and lived in South Africa for a year. It was there that I first fell in love with photography, capturing amazing landscapes and animals. I haven’t put my camera down since.

my Passion

As someone who can never sit still, being an elopement photographer in Banff is the best job for me. Blending my love of landscapes with a couple’s love stories is so fulfilling. I am proud to say that clients feel like good friends by the end of the day.

natural style

I avoid stiff, awkward poses because neither you nor I would enjoy that, and they never look quite right. I incorporate movement, prompts, and laughter to capture you naturally and make the day fun.

Your love matters

I am very vocal and passionate about supporting all forms of love. This world needs more love, always. With me, you are celebrated, and all my recommended vendors feel the same way! 🌈

what I am all about

My goal with every client is to provide you with an experience that exceeds your expectations.

my home

I am so lucky to have had the Rockies as my backyard growing up. I spent many summers working in and enjoying the mountains before starting my business. As a result, I know so many unique locations and have a lot of tips and tricks to pass on to you.

I love this job

Since 2014, I have had the privilege of photographing hundreds of mountain elopements and gained a lot of knowledge in the process. I am here every step of the way to make your day run smoothly and bring your dream adventure to life.

It’s about you

I care about you and make it my top priority to capture your day so that you remember all the little details for years to come. I want my photos to take you right back to those moments and feelings when you’re viewing them one month later or 60 years later.

Laura is the reason our backcountry hiking elopement was such a success. She had the perfect spot for us to hike and camp to get all of the moments and photos we were hoping for. She is quick to respond and willing to help with any questions you might have throughout the process. We loved meeting her at the beginning of all of this to see if we would be a good fit, and she has been nothing but a perfect fit the whole way. We were amazed by our photos, thinking they belonged in a magazine rather than just our wall! Best of all, Laura became a friend throughout this process and our elopement. We cannot recommend her enough!

An engagement shoot at Two Jack Lake in Banff National Park

After following Laura on Instagram for years and constantly being in awe of her photos when I got engaged she was the first person I contacted. She was so incredibly helpful right from the get go even in giving me ideas for locations in the mountains to get married! When we did a sunrise engagement shoot and it was below zero she made us feel relaxed and comfortable. We ended up having so much fun and the pictures were absolutely breathtaking – truly incredible. We had the exact same experience doing an adventure shoot for our wedding as well. The moments that Laura was able to capture for us are irreplaceable and I’m so happy to have them forever!

“I don’t think I can sing enough praise for Laura! If you can – absolutely book her without hesitation, you won’t regret it. We were so fortunate to land her as the photographer for our wedding. It is evident that she loves what she does and the people she gets to work with. I’m honoured that we got to work with someone of her calibre. The photos have all been breathtaking and stunning and I say that as someone who feels awkward in front of the camera and looks at pictures of herself critically. My husband and I felt so at ease because of her. Kind, personable, passionate, talented, professional…that’s just the tip of the iceberg to describe Laura.”
