Waterton Lakes Wedding

A couple dips and kissed during their Waterton Lakes wedding

A beautiful Waterton wedding

Ever since Jane was a young girl, she knew she would have a Waterton Lakes Wedding! She spent her childhood visiting this amazing park. It was the perfect location for her and James to tie the knot. They are a low key, adventurous, and outdoorsy couple which completely matches the vibe of Waterton! My family and I love to visit this park because it isn’t as busy or touristy as Banff. It has quickly become a favourite hiking spot!

the Iconic prince of wales hotel

The Prince of Wales Hotel in Waterton is a historic and iconic venue, first opening its doors in 1927. Designed in the classic Swiss chalet style, the hotel was built to cater to visitors travelling to Waterton Lakes National Park, offering both luxury and charm in a breathtaking natural setting. Over the years, it has hosted countless dignitaries and travellers, becoming a symbol of elegance in the Canadian Rockies. Its rich history, combined with its stunning location overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Upper Waterton Lake, makes it a unique and unforgettable wedding venue. This is where Jane and James got ready, and then met to exchange intimate vows.

We also has fun exploring all 7 floors of the building for some truly unique photos. J+J knew that they wanted to exchange meaningful and heartfelt vows. However, they couldn’t imagine doing that in front of all their guests. Instead, the picked a quite corner of the hotel where they could be in the moment, feel all the emotions, and speak from the heart to each other. It is always such a beautiful moment to witness and capture.

Photos around the town

Part of why Jane loves Waterton Lakes National Park so much is the quaint little town. She had so many fond memories from growing up here. We decided to wander around town and capture some wedding photos at some of those favourite spots. Afterwards, we moved to the Bayshore Inn for the outdoor ceremony. Waterton is classically always windy, but we had a warm mild day for their wedding, and the outdoor venue was perfect. The rest of the day was spent enjoying their wedding with their closest friends and family, celebrating their love and marriage. If you are looking for a quiet mountain escape for your wedding or elopement, definitely consider Waterton!
