Banff Same Sex Engagement Session

I had been looking forward to Brett + TJ’s Banff same sex engagement session for ages because we chose one of my favourite spots for it – Peyto Lake! These are two of the most hilarious humans I have ever met, and we had a blast from the road trip through the whole session. As a hiking wedding photographer based in Banff National Park, I always love helping couples have a fun and adventurous engagement session in the mountains!

We started off their sunset engagement session by hiking down to the lake which I hadn’t done with any couples before. I was so excited to see this lake from a different angle! Brett was a little hesitant about having photos taken, but Tj did such a good job of keeping him laughing and we kept the session light and fun! When we realized the sun was quickly setting, we realized we needed to haul a$$ to get back up to the viewpoint to catch the best sunset photos. We raced back up, sweating profusely, and they both quickly changed into a clean and dry outfit. We laughed the whole time and joked about the whole situation.

When we wrapped we all hopped back into the car and headed back to Calgary in the dark. They told me all about their wedding plans which has me so excited for September! Stay tuned for the most epic wedding photos, complete with a drag queen, burlesque dancing, and of course, lots of love + fun! It will be my last wedding of the year before giving birth, and I have a feeling their wedding will wrap up my year with a bang. I honestly can’t wait!
